Outer intention is a concept which has puzzled many readers of Reality Transurfing for years.
It also just happens to be one of the most crucial topics in the book. If you don’t understand ‘outer intention’, you cannot leverage Transurfing for your benefit.
By the end of this article you will have a good grasp of the concept.
What is Intention?
Before diving deeper, we need to first define what Intention is.
According to Zeland,
“Intention is a combination of desire and action.”
We often desire things we subconsciously don’t intend to do.
Take for example losing weight.
Someone can desire to lose weight.
Perhaps they admire fitness models on Instagram.
Maybe even join the gym.
These things don’t mean they actually intend to lose weight.
Another person also desires to lose weight.
They do the same things as the first person, but the only difference being they know they will achieve the result.
This person has intention.
The difference is like a kid in karate punching at a board and not breaking it.
They are taking the superficial action but their heart is not in it.
Or they can punch through the board and intend to break it.
There are two different types of intention.
Inner Intention which is used by the masses of humanity.
And Outer Intention, which is leveraged primarily by mystics and masters of reality shifting.
What Is Inner Intention?
“Inner intention is the concentration of attention on the process of moving towards the goal.”
— Vadim Zeland
Inner intention is a personal power.
You use inner intention when you create plans, apply your willpower and execute those plans.
It’s what most people use to achieve their goals.
With inner intention, you look at variables in your world and try to bend them to your will.
Inner intention can be seen as a battle between you and your circumstances.
The words struggle, try, want and battle are often associated with inner intention.
People who only use Inner Intention tend to become victims of destructive Pendulums.
This is because pendulums offer solutions to seekers who need tangible plans to achieve their goals.
These solutions sometimes become distractions from your optimal life path.
Take for instance people who get into multi-level marketing in order to escape the rat race.
Many end up as pendulum food, chewed up by the big dogs at the top.
Or the people who got on the NFT-hype train and spent their lifesavings, only to get destroyed by
‘Mr. Market’.

WHAT IS OUTER INTENTION?
“Outer intention is the concentration of attention on how the goal is realized of its own accord.”
— Vadim Zeland
Outer intention is a non-personal power which can be used to achieve your goals.
With outer intention you change your perspective from one in which you have to battle with the world, to one where you are in harmony with it.
You don’t have to fight for what you want.
You can simply choose what you want.
When you use Outer Intention properly, The Universal Mind will begin to change circumstances for you.
Defining outer intention is incredibly difficult, even for Zeland.
“So just what exactly is outer intention? I confess I have no idea and I am not afraid to say so.”
We can only describe it through observations.
Outer Intention is believed to be the force behind many paranormal or unexplained phenomena.
“Today, all manipulations of time, space and matter that cannot be explained logically tend to be described as magic or paranormal phenomena. These things are the work of outer intention which works to choose life lines in the alternatives space.”
— Vadim Zeland
According to Zeland, mystics, through a concentration of will and attention are able to change the lifelines of particular objects/circumstances.
This explains the reported phenomena of telekinesis, levitation and flying witches.
It also helps explain strange constructions seen all over the world by seemingly ‘primitive’ civilizations.
“Today it is pointless trying to prove that the Egyptian pyramids and similar constructions were built with the power of outer intention. Any hypothesis explaining the principle of their construction will be considered, just not this one. The ancients who built the pyramids would no doubt be quite amused to learn that their descendants considered the ancestors a more primitive civilization and were bending over backwards trying to guess the secret of their construction within the limited context of inner intention.”
— Vadim Zeland
These topics are beyond the scope of this article, and you do not need to know about them or even believe in them to master outer intention.
For more normal and worldly goals like making more money and attracting the right spouse, you only need a basic understanding of outer intention.

Examples of Outer Intention Vs Inner Intention
Let’s further our understanding with some examples.
Zeland shares an example in which a person marooned on a remote island full of savages encounters the natives.
If the person wishes to survive, their next actions become incredibly important.
“One possible outcome is that you would become the victim, apologising for your presence, making gifts, justifying yourself and trying to ingratiate yourself with the natives. In this case, you would be likely to get eaten.”
This first situation is an example of Inner Intention.
You try to logically manipulate the situation with your personal will to obtain a desired result.
Often what you believe will work and what will actually work are two different things.
The savages in this instance might regard you as weak and have no qualms about putting you on a spit-roast.
“The second possible outcome is that you would become the conqueror, showing signs of aggression, launching an attack and trying to assert your control over the tribe. You would either be victorious or lose your life.”
This is still another example of Inner Intention.
You are using your will once again by doing what you believe is needed to get the desired result.
It might work, it might fail.
Such is life.
“The third alternative is that you would present yourself as master and leader. If you were to reach out your hand like the powers that be you would be obeyed. When you have no doubt in your own might, your thought energy is attuned to life lines where you are king and everyone else assumes that this is how things should be.”
This third example demonstrates the power of Outer Intention.
You mentally choose a specific situation you want.
You believe that situation already being true with full faith.
The Universal Mind then shapes circumstances to be consistent with your self-belief.
The natives will likely be confused regarding why you have no fear.
Your behavior will not fit in with their worldview and they will hesitate to attack you.
They might even treat you as their king.
Outer Intention and Animals
Some of the best examples of how outer intention works can be seen when watching videos with animals.
Why is it that some people get torn to pieces when encountering dangerous animals, but others walk away unscathed?
It often has to do with the person’s mindset.
When people act scared or aggressive towards dangerous animals, they run into trouble.
When people stay calm, they often survive.
One of the best examples I have seen of this is by Southern Kenya’s Dorobo hunters.
These hunters simply walk towards a pride of lions radiating confidence.
Seconds later, the lions disperse and the hunters are able to steal the kill.
A personal favorite is this viral video of a wild bear sitting casually next to a man.
I don’t recommend practicing outer intention with wild animals.
These videos are merely demonstrating extreme cases.
Outer Intention In Business
There are many examples of people who grew amazing businesses through various acts of serendipity.
One of the best examples comes from the book ‘The Surrender Experiment’.
In the memoir, Michael A. Singer explains how he went from studying economics to meditating in the forest and eventually selling his business to a private equity firm for $565 million.
The main point of the book is about letting go.
Singer went with the flow of outer intention.
He did not resist things but kept saying ‘YES’ to what the Universe wanted.
This ability unlocked a level of success and happiness he wouldn’t have been able to achieve with mere Inner Intention.
How To Use Outer Intention
“You can fly in waking or walk on water if you have the outer intention of a Christ and it would not represent a contradiction of the laws of physics for the laws of physics work in just one sector of material realization.”
— Vadim Zeland
Step One: Get Clear
To use outer intention you first need to get clear on what you want.
Let’s say you have a business goal of making $200,000 per month.
Take the advice of Neville Goddard and assume the wish fulfilled.
Feel what you believe you would feel had you achieved the goal.
In the case of making money, a common feeling is relief.
You would feel lighter and have confidence in yourself and the future.
You will be abundant and adventurous.
Assume all these things internally before you see them externally.
If it’s too hard to feel the feelings, try to accept the possibility that what you want might happen.
Step One: Lower Importance
Once you have chosen what you want,
Let go of the importance surrounding achieving the goal.
Importance creates balancing forces which will knock you off your path.
If you had already achieved the goal, you wouldn’t be acting thirsty now, would you?
Lowering importance is crucial for allowing the alignment of your conscious and subconscious mind.
Zeland calls this aligning the heart and mind.
Step Three: Go With The Dao
You will notice opportunities arriving at your doorstep.
Many opportunities will allow you to move to a lifeline in which you have achieved your goal.
The problem is many will not look like what you might have imagined.
The key is to pay attention to your emotions and follow the direction in which they push you.
There is a very big difference between a logical decision and an intuitive one.
The intuitive decision is more of a knowing.
The logical is more about explaining.
A great example of someone who followed these steps and achieved great results is Francis Ngannou.
Francis initially wanted to become a boxing champion.
Whilst homeless in France, he was given a chance to train in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
MMA is not boxing but Francis took the opportunity until he became the UFC heavyweight champion.
Later, Francis would leave the UFC and his belt.
Because of the huge name he had made for himself in MMA, he was able to jump the queue of boxing rankings.
He fought Tyson Fury, a heavyweight champion, for his first ever boxing match and made more money in that one match than his whole UFC career.
That is Outer Intention at work.
Outer Intention and Lucid Dreaming
One of the topics Vadim Zeland covers in his book is the connection between Outer Intention and lucid dreaming.
“The only way of understanding the nature of outer intention more deeply is to practice lucid dreaming.”
A lucid dream is a dream in which you become aware that you are dreaming.
Typically when this happens you wake up.
However, with practice, you can learn to stay within the dream regaining all your conscious faculties.
Lucid dreaming much like a psychedelic trip is an altered state of consciousness.
This state is incredibly insightful for understanding outer intention.
To learn more about lucid dreaming, I recommend reading Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self by Robert Waggoner.
If you are lucky to maintain your awareness inside a lucid dream, you will learn that the dream world can bend to your will.
Simply assume something is a particular way, and through your faith it will become so.
Assume you can fly, and you will fly.
Assume you are on Mars, and you will be on Mars.
But if there is the slightest bit of doubt, what you desire will not become reality.
Outer intention is the force which leads to the rapid manifestations seen in lucid dreams.
The dream world and physical reality have more in common than you might think.
“In the sleep state a mere hint of outer intention is enough for flight to occur, in the world of inert material realization the intention has to be absolutely pure.”
Things take longer to manifest themselves in the real world, and hence your intention needs to be held for longer.
Much like in the dream world, things do not always manifest exactly in the way you would like.
Patience is required.
Summary
Outer intention is a non-personal force which has been leveraged by mystics and astute high performers for years. To use outer intention, you need to move from ‘trying’ to ‘having’, from ‘forcing’ to ‘allowing’.
The Universal Mind will then rearrange circumstances (shifting lifelines) to allow you to obtain the goal. The path towards the goals realization tends to look different from what we have in our minds.
Learn to accept the call and you will walk across the bridge of incidents. The key is to be steadfast in your faith through having conscious and subconscious mind alignment. You must keep your levels of importance towards the goal low or you will risk balancing forces destroying your progress.
Do this, and you will be one step closer to mastering your mind so you can shift your reality.
