The Master Key System Chapter 18 deals with The Law of Attraction and how to best use it.
Haanel begins by outlining how a man can only make sense of himself in relation to his environment.
When asked about what type of person you are, you might mention some of the following:
- the job you have,
- music you listen to,
- city you live in,
- and hobbies you enjoy.
Each answer relates to how you deal with your environment.
If you had no relationship with your environment, the concept of you wouldn’t exist as you know it.
“It is evident, therefore, that the individual is simply the differentiation of the one Universal Mind.”
All is one but must be differentiated in order for the divine to experience something new.
You are a unique perspective of the divine whole.
You have temporarily forgotten this fact so you may enjoy a sense of individuality.
But since you’re already complete, already part of the whole, you may attract what you want to return to you through The Law of Attraction.
It’s like playing a video game on the most difficult setting.
You do it for a challenge, however, if you want to make things easier you can simply change the difficulty, put in some cheat codes, or just change the game.
Thoughts are not yours
“This creative power does not originate in the individual, but in the universal, which is the source and fountain of all energy and substance. The individual is simply the channel for the distribution of this energy.”
— Charles Haanel
Thoughts are what cause change in the world.
Thoughts do not come from you, you simply shift your intention and attention.
When you shift your mind towards a theme, you will notice that ideas will begin to flood your mind.
Where were these ideas just a moment ago?
Did you consciously build them up with logic?
No.
Thoughts are not yours.
They come to you based on your vibration and alignment with a spiritual prototype.
Have you ever seen a homeless person begging on a street corner and wondered why they don’t simply get a job?
The homeless person’s vibration is far away from entertaining the idea of getting a job.
Their emotional set-point is likely stuck on shame and fear.
Their thoughts will then linger on scarcity, hence not allowing them to see other options.
“Growth is therefore conditioned on reciprocal action, and we find that on the mental plane like attracts like, that mental vibrations respond only to the extent of their vibratory harmony.”
As within so without
The great Hermetic Principle of Correspondence is responsible for what many call ‘The Mirror’ principle.
“It is clear, therefore, that thoughts of abundance will respond only to similar thoughts; the wealth of the individual is seen to be what he inherently is. Affluence within is found to be the secret of attraction for affluence without.”
To change the outside world, you must change your thoughts in relation to it.
A change of thoughts comes from deep inner work.
You must reprogram your subconscious mind to start seeing things from a different viewpoint.
When you do this, The Universal Mind will begin giving you powerful insights which have the power to change the trajectory of your life.
To change your vibration, you must first change your attention.
“Begin by paying attention; before long you will have aroused interest; this interest will attract more attention; and this attention will produce more interest, and so on. This practice will enable you to cultivate the power of attention.”
Attention and interest will begin to interplay until your vibration changes.
To have more wealth you need to begin with attention.
You pay attention to your finances and your business system.
Soon you will develop a greater interest in the affair, which will lead you to reading more books, taking more courses, etc.
A reinforcing feedback loop will happen which will change your vibration, thus allowing the universal to begin helping you.
The Master Key Chapter 18 Exercise Explained
This week, concentrate upon your power to create. Seek insight and perception. Try to find a logical basis for the faith which is in you. Let the thought dwell on the fact that the physical man lives and moves and has his being in the sustainer of all organic life air, that he must breathe to live. Then let the thought rest on the fact that the spiritual man also lives and moves and has his being in a similar but subtler energy upon which he must depend for life, and that as in the physical world no life assumes form until after a seed is sown, and no higher fruit than that of the parent stock can be produced; so in the spiritual world no effect can be produced until the seed is sown and the fruit will depend upon the nature of the seed, so that the results which you secure depend upon your perception of law in the mighty domain of causation, the highest evolution of human consciousness.
The Master Key System Chapter 18 exercise encourages the students to engage in contemplation. This exercise is meant to show you the correspondence between the physical and mental worlds. The spiritual man who is a man of thought and subtle energy must follow the same rules as the physical man.
For there to be a harvest on the physical plane, a seed must be planted and nurtured. For there to be a harvest on the spiritual plane, thoughts must be focused and energized with attention and love.
Do this, and you will be one step closer to living and dying well.
